Charge Zero % GST on parcel and home delivery menu from any Restaurant and 5% inside the Restaurant.

The Issue

Problem- The GST on food, which is not eaten, inside any kind of restaurant in India, is minimum 12% and maximum 18% which. It should be reduced to zero percent.

Solution-

1. Zero % GST should be charged on the parcel or home delivery or take away menu as it is not availing any service inside the restaurant.

 2. As the food is ordered and eaten in the hotels and restaurants may attract 5% GST which was 0% before GST implementation (July 2017).

Reason and Justification-

a. When the food is eaten inside the restaurant, avails various kind of service like water, tissue paper, conditioned air nor another catering service. The GST is minimum 12% to maximum 18% (slab changed after public demand).

b. Before implementation of GST in India, there was no any tax structure on food eaten inside or outside of the restaurant. But from July 2017, GST is being charged varying from 12% to 18%. It was a huge blow to the common man in India.

c. Indian populace prefers hotel or restaurant mostly on weekends in order to have some change from weekdays. The wives also get relaxed from 5 to 6 days routine work. The budget of husbands, housewives and working women, is significantly affected due to this blow of GST.

d. The parcel, take away and home delivered food from any kind of restaurant should be zero %.
