Caste Based Reservation System should be removed.

Caste Based Reservation System should be removed.
The Issue
The original purpose of reservation in India was noble—it was introduced as a remedy to eradicate caste-based discrimination and ensure fair opportunities for historically oppressed communities. It was never meant to be a permanent feature, but rather a temporary corrective measure to heal the wounds of social inequality.
However, in today’s India, the concept of reservation has deviated from its intended purpose. Instead of bridging caste divides, it is now being used to reinforce them. It’s important to remember:
Reservation is not a personal entitlement. The Indian Constitution uses the term “Representation”, not “reservation.” This system was meant to ensure the representation of underprivileged communities—not to reward individuals based solely on birth identity.
In schools, colleges, and government jobs, we are witnessing a serious compromise of merit and fairness. Students and professionals are being judged not by their talent or effort, but by their caste certificate. This is not justice. This is reverse discrimination.
Let us be clear:
Not all students from upper castes are economically privileged. Many struggle to afford education, yet receive no support under the current system.
Similarly, not all beneficiaries of reservation are underprivileged today. A blanket system based on caste ignores real indicators of need—like economic hardship, rural background, or access to education.
We propose a new approach:
1) End caste-based reservation in higher education and public sector employment.
2) Replace it with a merit- and income-based system, where students from all backgrounds who are economically disadvantaged receive the support they need.
3) Focus on true upliftment by targeting poor and marginalized citizens regardless of caste, and give every Indian child a fair chance based on their knowledge, hard work, and potential.
This is not about denying justice to anyone. It is about upholding real equality—where a student’s future is shaped by their effort, not their surname.
It is time to say no to division. Say no to outdated caste labels. Say yes to unity, merit, and equal opportunity for all.
Sign this petition to call upon the Government of India and concerned authorities to reform the reservation system and build a truly inclusive and progressive nation.
