Dear Supporters,
Tonight is day two of the 11 Days for 1117 Queen West porch sit-in.
We all know how often this space is used by the community and how much potential it has to become a true community hub.
Each night, from September 11-21, 5-8 pm, we are hosting a sit-in/party/protest on the back porch of our beloved Community Post building.
This is a fun and informal event for all ages and all beings. Please come out and show our politicians how much this space is used and needed!
Go Fund Me!
We are at a pivotal stage of the election and our fight to save 1117 Queen West and keep Public Land in Public Hands continues.
Our goal is to keep this important issue on the minds of not just our local politicians, but also to spread the word to all those affected by the sell-offs of Canada Post lands without community consultation or benefit.
We now need financial support to stay relevant and keep this issue going. That entails organizing events and creating materials that spark awareness and engagement across the community.
For those who are able to give, we have set up a Go Fund Me page seeking donations to help in local efforts: https://gofund.me/48a2e962
Any amount you can give would be appreciated.
If you are unable to give, you can show your support in other ways, such as, by sharing the petition, talking to your friends and neighbours about the issue, and writing your local city councillor, MPP, and federal candidate.
We need to halt the sale! Secure funds from the City to buy the property! And have a promise from our candidates to amend the Canada Post Act to ensure that Public Land stays in Public Hands!
