We have urgent news. The sale of the 1117 Queen West could happen any day!
We have been advised that Canada Post Corp. has a preferred buyer! They are not disclosing the name, but it is not a community group.
They can finalize the sale of the building at any moment. This is after Canada Post rejected offers from three local community groups. Canada Post is working against the interests of the community.
We highly suspect that Canada Post Corp will announce the sale the moment the election is over - in just one week!
We must put the pressure on now to Halt the Sale!
We need our local federal candidates and party leadership to commit to securing funding for community space at 1117 Queen West!
We need Mayor John Tory and our local City Councillor, Ana Bailao, to commit to city funding for community space at 1117 Queen West!
We need our federal candidates to commit to amending the Canada Post Act, to ensure public land stays in public lands!

Tonight is day three of the 11 Days for 1117 Queen West porch sit-in.
Each night, from September 11-21, 5-8 pm, we are hosting a sit-in/party/protest on the back porch of our beloved Community Post building.
This is a fun and informal event for all ages and all beings. Please come out and show our politicians how much this space is used and needed!
