The Canada Revenue Agency has locked out Canadian taxpayers from their accounts with the agency. Since access to accounts are necessary in order to claim benefits associated with Covid, people are being denied support that they would otherwise be entitled to.

Once locked out of your account, you must speak to a CRA representative which they have made impossible. The que is often unavailable and when you do get into que, the wait can be 4+ hours - after which time, they simply hang up!

Whether it be by design in order to make claiming benefits so difficult that no one will be able to collect them, or if it just that the program is so poorly run and staffed that it has created a quagmire, this process denies money from people who need it and deludes potential recipients into waiting on the phone, day after day for hours at a time.
