Terminator statue to replace Christopher Columbus Statue at California State Capitol
Why this petition matters

The Christopher Columbus statue is being removed at the California State Capitol, which leaves an empty space within what used to stand there. With so many different ideas on what to possibly replace the statue, why not replace it with a statue with one of our former governor (if not maybe our most famous governor to run California) Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Considered one of the greatest action heroes of all-time, the Arnold Schwarzenegger statue would be based off his most famous and most iconic role, The Terminator. Particularly his image/look in 1991’s Highest Grossing Blockbuster, Terminator 2: Judgement Day. What the final product may look like is still up in the air but it would be awesome if the statue could include his iconic 1991 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy and the famous twirling 1887 Winchester lever action shotgun.
Behind this proposal, I believe the statue can also represent something more important. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s success story goes beyond Hollywood, politics, and even bodybuilding. His life story of rags-to-riches and coming to America to achieve what he has achieved through hard work and dedication should be a true inspiration towards people in California and most of all, immigrants who come to America to seek a better life like Arnold once did. Something the previous statue couldn’t reflect.
