Bharat Ratna to Andhra Annapoorna Smt Dokka Seethamma
The Issue
Smt Dokka seethamma ia a very familiar name in combined Andhra Pradesh belongs to East Godavari district
She organised for so many years free food to hundreds of hungry people every day at her house with her own funds
Her birth year 1841 and died in 1909
before independence lot of poverty in india and so many people have no sufficient food to eat
At that time she offered free food to the poor or who ever came to her house for more than 40 years with the help of her husband Dokka Joganna with little wealth available with them without any funding from others or any organisations
The British government recognized her charity, and King Edward VII invited her to the celebration of his anniversary along with other guests from India. He ordered the chief secretary of Madras to bring her to Delhi with honor, but Seethamma politely declined the invitation, saying that she was not providing her services for publicity. The Madras chief secretary instead gave King Edward a photograph of her, which he then enlarged to place on the chair where she was to sit during the celebration.
It is our responsibility to honour her with Highest civilian award BHARATH RATNA for her selfless service.
