Too many dogs are now being stolen. There seems to be no deterrent. The sentences- if they get one are not reflective of the crime. Stolen dogs are classed as stolen goods. This isn’t good enough. Our dogs are not goods! They are family members. Thieves are cutting chips out of them and breeding them with no regard for their pain and suffering. The mental torture on the families is horrendous. There needs to be lengthy sentences for these crimes. Treat them like they have abducted and abused a child because that’s what our dogs are to us. I would like the law to be changed and sentences increased. I would also like to include puppy farmers as they are also dog abusers.
