In the uk there is no Good Samaritan law.

Good Samaritan laws offer legal protection to people who give reasonable assistance to those who are or are believed to be, injured, ill  or otherwise incapacitated.  This means there would be a duty to rescue people to offer assistance and holds those who fail to do so liable. 
Providing First Aid is a vital service to the Community and evidence shows  that up to a possible 140,000 lives are lost each year where First Aid could have made the difference and that’s just those that have been recorded.  I know most of our community would help others without a seconds thought but sadly that is not the mentality of all , some due to fear and others just because it’s not in their nature to help others. I’m sure parents  would feel better knowing that people in their community would have a duty to help their children if there was a need or even a need for you your self to receive first aid. 
for example if someone was having a serious chocking incident and were not close to a hospital or medical professional their possible only hope of Survival would be a near by first aider and possible stranger.  
I’m sure some people feel that there isn’t a need for this and have faith that those around them will preform an act of good will but sadly far too often this isn’t the case. The feeling of losing someone is one of the most difficult but imagine knowing that person could still be with you today but that gift of life was taken away because of someone’s inability to try.
