I hope this petition finds you all well. We have all been saddened by what has happened to the young sikh school boy of Charlton School and this has hurt us Sikhs and many other people deeply. 

Lack of eduction in schools about Sikhism and pure ignorance at the sacrifices that were made for us is look the way we do, it is our uniform. Our covered hair is one of the biggest ways you will Identify a sikh and our Turbans are our CROWNS. 

We are a peaceful, kind and loving religion and we are not taught of enough. Sikhs have, are and will continue to do selfless service (SEVA) for others whether they are in need or not. 

I ask that you sign and share this petition and schools are demanded to change their curriculum to teach more about what Sikhs have sacrificed, who they are and what our religion is about. The future of our children is at risk here. We need to protect them if you do not teach them about us the ignorance will continue and we will be singled out, made fun of and pointed at as in the attack on the young boy. We do not treat others this way do not treat us with this lack of respect. Teach people of our history and it will bring tears, understanding and respect that we deserve. We are not just about arranged marriages and long beards, 5 k's, going to gurdwara with our head covered and turbans thats about the jist of what school covers. Grant us the respect we deserve. 

Our history shows that it takes something to happen before something is done. Bring something from what the young Singh has gone through and achieve something positive..... change the way you teach and what you teach so that the people are no longer uneducated about Sikhism. So that they know what we have our uniform, our identity and why we follow this way of life.
