We keep hearing increasing noise about the football season restarting, at a time when we are battling against a deadly virus. Football is wonderful entertainment and weekends are  not the same without it, however in the current climate it is really not that important. Plans to restart football in June are crazy. In the Premier league alone in would require a minimum of 2000 people breaking all social distancing rules to restart and there are 3 other leagues below that as well. If there were an outbreak which could originate with just one or two people, it’s would could potentially lead to deaths and that is not acceptable. We all miss football, but the next few months are incredibly important if we are to protect the NHS and save lives, letting sport recommence undermines this importance and will without doubt lead to people taking guidelines less seriously!
