One issue that has become apparent in recent months is the lack of broadband internet available to those in rural communities. With the COVID-19 pandemic and schools having to close, many students at both school age and university have been affected by this leaving them without internet access to attend class. While it has always been an issue, it has become an even bigger issue lately. It not only has had an impact on students but adults in various careers as well. With people working remotely most rely on internet to allow them to access their work files, emails, and many other resources essential to their careers. Many people in rural areas have made sacrifices out of their day to be able to drive somewhere in town to be able to reach service in order to get their work done. With this petition, it is our hope that we can invoke a change and make a step forward with making broadband internet available to everyone including those in rural areas to make life easier but also allow them access to what has almost become an essential part of everyday life. We hope this will reach as many people as possible and potentially even those in local governments who may be able to help push the issue for more attention.
