Elections are essential for every democratic country such as our own, for it points people, specifically, politicians to power. The Philippines has begun to be democratic since the 19th century. However, the reputation it built is indisputable. Corruption has been poisoning the country pass a century. And the hope of light is dim. The particular reason for this circumstance is the political illiteracy of the country's citizens. Without adequate literacy or the proper knowledge, abilities, or skills about politics, people gain unawareness of the political processes, illegal political activities, and political ideas. Thus allowing oligarchs, corrupt officials, cunning debaters, and slick propagandists to deceive and misinform the public, and ensuing in the broadening and strengthening corruption all-though-out the country.

Political illiteracy does not only affect an individual but its community. Politically illiterate citizens cannot be a part of the country's progress in achieving the "right" government. They do not know what to do and how to do it, pertaining that they do not obtain the necessary apprehension for them to participate in such activities. Politics is the art of powerplay. It is the exercise of power: who gets what, when, how, and determines the welfare of a community. In the Philippines, corruption is deeply-rooted since the invasion of Spaniards into the country. And in the present, it remains a poison, destroying the prosper of the community. It is because citizens forgot their power, voting. As stated by Contreras (2020), people have ceded their parts as the sovereign. Citizens have abnegated active participation in politics as empowered, critics, rational, and well-informed individuals. These incidents have enabled Political Dynasties, Corrupt Officials, and Oligarchs to abuse their capital. According to Cupin (2018), the majority of voters are illiterate, making them vulnerable to illegal activities such as vote-buying. They do not hold importance to their votes, trading it off for money. And allowing undeserving candidates to grasp power and authority. It is a norm from all regions in the Philippines, and obviously, it is not positive. Political illiteracy brings upon unpropitious governance.

This project proposes to heighten the literacy of the citizens residing in the Philippines regarding politics, aiming to instill the proper knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to participate in political activities. Furthermore, help them understand the processes undertaking behind the government and develop a sense of political awareness. It targets to explain how essential it is in attaining the right government. And specify the necessary steps to do it. Through this campaign, every voter would obtain the adequate knowledge vital for achieving the right government.

In the whole, the "Be an Antidote" political movement aims to augment political literacy in the Philippines. It serves as a replacement for the inadequate knowledge people have been given through schools and organizations. Through this campaign, politically illiterate voters would obtain the necessary literacy for them not to be taken advantage of by mischievous politicians.
