Remove statues honouring slave traders

The Issue

There are statues, street names, school names honouring men for making money on the back of the slave trade. 20 million people died, millions tortured and raped and lived in horrific conditions after being torn away from their families and we are honouring the names of the people who had a direct hand in this. How do we end systemic racism and unconscious bias while having these symbols of honour for these men on our streets and in our city centres. They need to be removed and an apology issued for having them there in the first place.
