with NZ entering covid19 level 3 economists have already warned the probability of kiwi unemployment could spike by hundreds of thousands as small and local businesses are already/will be forced to close.

prior to covid19 small kiwi businesses were responsible for 28% of national GDP and employment of around 600,000 New Zealanders.

Right now with oil prices dipping into negative and economists predicting job losses in the fallout of the covid19 recession, hyperinflation is likely to come into play.

under current terms and conditions New Zealanders can only draw upon their kiwisaver as a first home buyer, or due to financial hardship or illness.

if New Zealanders and our government passed a bill that changed these terms and conditions of the kiwisaver scheme it will allow kiwis to draw on their kiwisaver to start/support a business. This would completely change the state of the nation, it would increase GDP, and would see more kiwis in secure employment, it would lower mental health rates and lift morale in the people of NZ and would also help kiwisaver in general. For every kiwisaver that was withdrawn to start a local business, that would also then put more money back in peoples kiwisaver accounts all through the rise in the employment it would generate.
