I was shocked, disgusted and heartbroken to discover that an act exists, whereby if a wild animal cannot be released into the wild, it is destroyed. An example is a man who rehabilitated a pigeon. The pigeon nearly met a sad end by prey animals and he cared for it. It couldn't fly but was otherwise happy and healthy. Said pigeon wasn't causing anyone any harm, had a good happy life with the man who saved him. Sadly however, this was reported to RSPCA who removed pigeon from him whereby it would then be destroyed. Had he refused he could have faced 6 months in prison. 

Im absolutely shocked that this is even a thing. How can it be ok for a perfectly healthy bird, who was cared for and very much loved, be taken away and euthanised just because of this ridiculous 'act'. This is just heartbreaking. And to be done by an organisation that supposedly care about animal welfare? 

This awful, outdated, inhumane act needs to be abolished. These animals do not deserve to die, and the caring people who take time to look after them don't deserve the heart break of having them confiscated and destroyed. This is wrong on so many levels.
