Bev Crowford started this petition to Prime Minister (Government)

My son and I believe wholeheartedly and passionately that setting up a 4th Emergency Service exclusively for Mental Heath Emergency Situations and Care would greatly free up the 3 existing Emergency  Services, who are so often called out to potential suicides, and people suffering urgent mental health conditions and problems.

The 3 other services are not fully trained in dealing with mental health issues and problems and are so overstretched at present both in manpower and funds.Yet time and time again are called out to Emergency situations  relating to mental health to try to help, and of course they do a wonderful job, but with more and more people being diagnosed with mental health issues in an ever changing society, this  4th service is greatly needed and soon.

Personally, working within the NHS I have had 3 recent situations with people suffering from Mental Health issues and as an Administrator and no training or little knowledge of how best to help, felt both frightened and helpless. This spurred me into realising how our existing Emergency Services must feel when called out to help .

It was discussing my recent situations with my Son, he expressed his view that we desperately need a 4 th Emergency Service and he is so right.

Thanks to Prince Harry greatly raising awareness of Mental Health issues, and both hearing and seeing the-many problems people with mental health issues face, we absolutely believe this service would be invaluable, save resources draining the other 3 Emergency Services and greatly help people with mental health issues and needs.By sending experts in mental health care to situations and Emergencies, so many will benefit.

Please help us by signing our petition and thank you for listening.
