Death penalty has been withdrawn from countless murderers in Pennsylvania. Jesse Dee Wise, murdered SIX of his relatives. After taking six innocent lives in 2013, his family was able to overturn his death penalty. He ended up with life in prison. Mary Jane Fonder shot a church member out of jealousy in 2008. She received life in prison. Is it "unconstitutional" to take someone's life? If they can take innocent lives, why can't we end their guilty lives? Carlos Diaz-Santiago murdered his ex-girlfriend, another woman, and her two children. Carlos faced 160 years in prison. "Capital punishment is an intolerable denial of civil liberties and is inconsistent with the fundamental values of our democratic system", so if death penalty is going against the values of our system, how do you justify the murders of innocent people? Is that going against our democratic system? In the 18 U.S. Code § 1111 murder is mentioned. Any type of purposeful harm to end someone's life is considered first degree murder. In the United States, a first degree murderer can face 25 years to life in prison. A murderer is eligible for parole after 25 years, depending on the sentence. One may be able to walk the same streets they took to end a life after only 25 years. Is that constitutional? Is that right? If they can take lives for no justifiable reason, why can't we take theirs for a valid one? Make death penalty legal in Pennsylvania again by signing this petition.
