Zoo's in the uk are in danger, with Gov guidelines leaving them out, there is no set date for them to reopen, this is despite various zoos working to meet criteria needed to open non-essential shops and even schools. 

With astronomical food bills and staff to pay they are under huge financial strain, Aside from this the amazing work done for conservation is at risk too. To put this blunt, there is real chance of zoos running out of money, it doesn't take much of a leap to realise this could mean starving animals.
I have seen zoos asking for essentials via amazon wish lists. Others asking for donations of essential food. This cant be taken lightly. 

It is hard to understand how public parks that are largely unregulated/policed can stay open to the public whilst a private organisation with measures and ways to control these measures in place cannot.
