Gov. Terry McAuliffe has stated that Virginia would not be among the growing number of U.S. states seeking to block Syrian refugees, despite calls from Republicans for the state to close its doors as a security precaution following the November 13th terrorist attacks in Paris.

More than two dozen governors, most of them Republican, said they would attempt to block the settlement of Syrian refugees in their states after the attacks in France, believed to be the work of the Islamic State, that killed nearly 130 people and left hundreds more wounded.

The United States does not have the ability to filter out radical Islamists that will take advantage of the current crisis, and it is with the safety and well-being of all Virginians in mind that we call on the governor to halt the acceptance of Syrian refugees at this time.

Please help us demand that Gov. McAuliffe join the growing number of state governors who are refusing to accept Syrian refugees.
