Neighbors,
The results of the study have been posted on the State Fire Marshal's website (https://www.myfloridacfo.com/Division/SFM/bfp/MineBlastingstudy0818B.html). As expected, their conclusions are not favorable for the homeowners, actually, they stopped short of saying that we are making everything up. We are NOT surprised by these results, we knew that this was going to happen. The scope of work was designed to protect the industry, therefore the study served its purpose. The SFM just wasted $290,000 of taxpayers money, your money.
Our current State Representatives, State Senators, State Fire Marshal and most local politicians have failed us. Some of them live in the area, they know the problem very well, but we still see them cowardly dodging their constituents pleas for solutions or blaming the State. They do not behave like elected officials, they act like lobbyists working for the mining industry while still receiving a salary paid for with our taxpayers' dollars. This is why we need new leadership. We need leaders who are not afraid of speaking the truth, leaders who are not tainted by the old dirty tactics that are so common in Miami politics. We need leaders who really represent the interest of their constituents, leaders who understand the concept of Public Service and who are willing to address the issues affecting their communities. We need change. That change has a name, her name is Cindy Polo.
We have seen Cindy Polo use her platform to expose the blasting problem and the complicity of elected officials with the rock mining industry that leaves the residents to fend for themselves. Even before being elected, she is already making an impact in her district by becoming an activist against blasting. Cindy Polo does not have a hidden agenda; her motivations are genuine, her call is to represent the people who so desperately need an honest, transparent, hardworking leader. Cindy Polo is smart, well-spoken, courageous, and she is ready to lead.
We encourage you to read the entire report following the link above and to help us elect Cindy Polo, the anti-blasting candidate.
The No More Blasting Coalition proudly endorses Cindy Polo for State Representative District 103.
