Neighbors, Since our last update, we have been patiently waiting for the results of the study that should have been posted at the beginning of July. This month is almost over and we have not received the final report. Regardless of the findings that RESPEC provides, we have been working diligently to increase our reach within the affected communities. We are very proud to announce the creation of a Coalition that includes Miramar's No More Blasting group, as well as community leaders from Miami Lakes and Palm Springs North. By working together, we have been able to replicate our message and organize Calls to Action like the recent intervention at the Miami Lakes Council Meeting when lots of residents expressed their frustration to the Mayor and Councilmen. Our next Community Meeting will be on Monday, July 30th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Country Club of Miami (6801 NW 186th St, Hialeah, FL 33015). This meeting is for all affected residents in Broward and Miami-Dade. We will introduce the members of the coalition, and provide relevant information on the current state of the blasting problem, including the role of local governments and elected officials.
