Dear neighbors, Last night the Miramar City Commission approved the first reading of an ordinance to create the Blasting Citizens Advisory Committee. This will be a permanent committee consisting on 9 members: 6 residents from the affected communities (Country Club Ranches, Nautica, Sunset Lakes, Sunset Falls, Huntington, Riviera Isles), 1 representative from the school district, 1 representative from the city who does not live in the area of the blasting, and 1 representative of the business community. If you are interested on being part of the committee, please attend the second reading on February 15th at 7:00 pm @ the City Hall to get more details. Once the ordinance passes the second reading, any resident who wants to serve on this volunteer two-year assignment can submit their application. The Blasting Citizens Advisory Committee meetings will be advertised on the city's calendar and open to the public. Also, the members are subject to the Sunshine law.
