The province of Rizal has a project to build a Provincial Hospital Annex in Taytay, Rizal. This is a very worthwhile project benefiting thousands of Rizaleños. But the local Taytay LGU offered as its site the Old Municipal Building at the center of town.

Why this doesn't sit well with many local residents?

1. The Old Municipal Building is a HERITAGE BUILDING designated during the time of Mayor Janet Mercado to preserve part of Taytay's history and instill cultural pride in is residents.

2. The location has very narrow streets. While they will also build a parking building for the hospital, the road outlets in and out of the area are very small and will create horrendous gridlock in the area.

3. Meters away from the site is the Taytay Emergency Hospital which can also be expanded to serve the locality.

4. There are alternative locations possible for the projects like the municipal land in Barangay Muzon or the abandoned mall besides Palmera 2. 

5. The current state of pride among Taytayenos is eroding because of the current culture of money. Preserving a HERITAGE BUILDING will help in making it get better.

WE NEED BOTH THE HOSPITAL AND OUR HERITAGE BUILDING.
