Stop Ruining YouTube, Listen To US.
The Issue
Cause for Action?
During a laid back time in 2006, Google bought YouTube from the three founders who were formerly PayPal employees: Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. When years passed by, things became exponentially worse. Viacom sued the site, false copyright claims ensued, big businesses have saturated pages, unfair decisions have been made, and changes with profiles and layouts are destroying our virtual identifications and freedom. The only good change is that everyone is allowed to be a partner and earn money/income with AdSense.
So what are we exactly sick of? I'll explain:
* We are sick of uploading videos that get rejected from monetization for inane reasons even though all of the content included in them is non-copyrighted, self-made, and/or does not violate YouTube guidelines.
* We are sick of false and fraudulent copyright claims from companies and corporations such as UMG and WMG to name a few.
* We are sick of getting our accounts wrongfully penalized (with strikes) for foolish reasons.
* We are sick of getting our videos wrongfully flagged for foolish reasons, with YouTube doing nothing about the situation.
* We are sick of submitting supportive documentation for my videos without receiving any feedback or responses from Google's support teams.
* We are completely, and tired of being sick of Google not listening to their consumers and forcing their unwanted site adjustments upon us to conform to.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We understand that Google is a business and needs to generate revenue. We don't have a problem with ads appearing on the site to keep it alive and running.
However, we DO have a problem when generally unfavorable and constructive feedback is sent from US to a business that promptly ignores it.
It is you that helped YouTube make it what it is today, but the people currently running it don't care about that. They are too busy organizing their vacations, wealthy possessions, and fat wallets. And who knows what else they could be doing behind our backs? People have been complaining about these issues with YouTube for a long time without progress.
Now is the time to voice out, pass this onto every YouTube user, and stop settling for less. Many frequent YouTube visitors and users need to cease being ignorant of this dilemma. We can accomplish this if we team together to make this work.
