The Pixel 5a is only sold in the USA and in Japan – what a bummer for everyone who wanted to upgrade to the latest Pixel-a-phone. While older models become slower and slower or newer Pixel-phones are being dropped, Google is preparing the launch of the newest generation Pixel-phone. No problem, you might think?

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are high-end-smartphones, devices that will likely be quite expensive. For the year 2021, a new Pixel phone will be unavailable for most of humanity. Only customers in the USA and Japan can buy a midrange Google-phone while the rest of the world has three options: 

• Buying an older Pixel-device with shorter support for updates.
• Spending much more money on a new phone or getting a new phone-contract / financing the new device
• Leaving Googles ecosystem and switching to an alternative from a different brand

These three option stand against simply selling the Pixel 5a in more countries. An undertaking that should be possible as all former Pixel-phones were sold globally. 

The purpose of this petition is to show Google, that many people in other countries are interested in continuing the Pixel-a-series globally. Afterwards, a global launch is the only right thing to do!
