Google: Reinstate Support for the UBlock Origin Chrome Extension.

The Issue

ATTENTION GOOGLE POLICY MAKERS:

39 MILLION Chrome downloads of the UBlock Origins Chrome extension.

Even that number is a tiny fraction of people who insist that their browsers are something other than obnoxious refuse piles composed of privacy violations and cascading advertisements out the ass.

Yes, we've been aware of your take on UBlock Origins for some time. But you have officially crossed the line. You have gone too far.

As individuals who believe firmly in the sanctity of personal data, we strongly feel that the internet has become a battleground of advertisement minefields and intrusive data tracking. We are here to articulate our collective 'No' against Google's disregard for our privacy and insistence on a strictly worsened browsing experience. This is not just about adverts.

This is about personal liberty, data rights, and privacy.

To get the attention of Google policy-makers and executives, we vow to spread this petition far and wide and to share the business email addresses of the individuals below:

Company Executives:
Mr. Sundar Pichai, CEO -     sundar.pichai@google.com; pichai.sundar@google.com; pichai.sundarajan@google.com
Mr. Gaurav Bhaya, VP & GM -      gaurav.bhaya@google.com
Ms. Lorraine Twohill, CMO -     lorraine.twohill@google.com
Ms. Parisa Tabriz, VP/GM Chrome -     parisa.tabriz@google.com
- "Princess" of Google.
Ms. Vidhya Srinivasan, VP/GM, Advertising & Commerce -     vidhya.srinivasan@google.com
Mr. Philipp Schindler, Chief Business Officer -     philipp.schindler@google.com
Mr. Kent Walker, Sr VP, Global Affairs & CLO -     kent.walker@google.com

Board Members:
Mr. John Hennessy, Board Chairman -     john.hennessy@google.com
Mr. Larry Page, Co-founder & Board Member -     larry.page@google.com
Mr. Sergey Brin, Co-founder & Board Member -     sergey.brin@google.com
Ms. Adrienne Hayes, VP Marketing & Board Member -     adrienne.hayes@google.com
Mr. R. Martin Chavez, Investment Banker & Board Member -     martin.chavez@google.com

Our data is ours alone - but Google, under the guidance of Sundar Pichai, insists on maintaining a zero-privacy Chrome riddled with obnoxious advertisements. Advertisers and data aggregators do not have the rights to our lives, thoughts, and patterns. However, they reap what we sow every day on the internet. A study by Princeton University shows that Google tracking is now on 76% of websites, allowing advertising companies to paint a detailed picture of our lives (Englehardt & Narayanan, 2016, "Online tracking: A 1-million-site measurement and analysis").

We, the internet users, are calling out for Google, Sundar Pichai, and all responsible, accountable, consulted, and informed higher-ups at Google to consider the consequences of your actions.

This is the last straw. Respond to this petition with corrective actions - Reinstate support for UBlock Origin. Do the right thing, or we are beyond done with Chrome, and on to Firefox, Brave, Arkenfox, and other browsers. Hell, even Edge is better.  Do not remove the only tool that promotes freedom from unwanted and intrusive data procurement and obnoxious advertisements.

For fuck sake, you do not need more of our data. DON'T BE EVIL. Redeem yourselves.

Our voices will not be ignored. It’s high time Google and Sundar Pichai took notice of the user sentiment and did something about Chrome's gaping zero-privacy issue. Our intent is nothing less than to get the personal attention of all leaders at Google, and to not stop spreading this petition until you make the required changes. Know that this represents a tiny sliver of how many people are against such practices. We take privacy seriously, and so must Google. It is with conviction and a belief in the right to data privacy that we urge Google to provide conscientious support for the UBlock Origin Chrome extension.
