Google needs to redesign the Play Music app to resemble the Material Design video from I/O

The Google Play Music app is cluttered and does not use Material Design to its full potential. The short glimpse of a music app that was presented in the Material Design introduction video at Google I/O 2014 was beautiful. This is what we want the Play Music app to be. There are too many icons, menus, and pages. The app simply does not flow. One example of poor UI design is that you can access the song list of an album in multiple different ways and each list looks and interacts differently (Now playing vs Music Library). There should only be one way to access the song list of an album. Music is probably one of the most popular features on phones. Google's Android excels in many ways to Apples iOS, but unfortunately Google Play Music is inferior to Apples music app. In order for Google to compete and surpass Apple they must completely overhaul and simplify their Play Music app utilizing their Material Design language to its full potential.
