Allow 16 year olds to use Google AdSense

Allow 16 year olds to use Google AdSense
The Issue
Right now, you must be 18 or over to have your own Google AdSense account.
This means that you can earn a percentage of the revenue produced when somebody clicks on an advert on your YouTube Channel, Blog or Website. You can earn money online.
But only if you are over the age of 18, and I strongly believe that this age limit should be reduced to 16.
At the age of 16 in the UK, you can leave home, get married, have sex and officially change your name all without parental consent. So why can a 16 year old only get an AdSense account if it's under their parent or guardian's name?
More importantly, they can leave school, get a full-time job and pay National Insurance. They are entitled to have a job offline, but online, this is forbidden.
And it's not as if payment would be difficult. Most 16 year olds have a debit card/ bank account. And those without are old enough to have one if required.
So my point here is that earning money from adverts as a hobby or even as a job should be made possible for young adults. Yes, you must be 18 to vote in the UK parliament and buy a cigarette, because these are important decisions which can have a major impact on your country and your health, but ad revenue does not. A 16 year old is mature enough to earn money. In the AdSense Terms and Conditions, there is also no explanation as to why you must be at least 18 to have an account.
So if you agree that this age limit should be reduced and that teenagers should be allowed to make money on YouTube/Blogger, please sign the petition and share to help AdSense become a more accessible platform.
