Songza has been my go-to music streaming service ever since I discovered it in 2012. I love the choice of moods, events, and holidays the app used to offer as the basis for each playlist. I currently use the new replacement, Google Play Music, but I find that it doesn't offer the same range of possibilities. What made Songza unique was its integration of personal events, moods, and activities, as well as national holidays, into daily life. It was like having a soundtrack to your life! Google Play Music has scaled down these crucial qualities in its new version of the app, in favor of a more traditional streaming experience. However, in my opinion, this change has taken away the original appeal and character of the Songza app. The new Google Play Music is now no different from any other streaming apps. Why should I choose Google Play Music over Pandora, Apple Music, or Spotify? There is currently no suitable replacement for Songza, but I hope to change that! I am requesting that Mr. Elias Roman and Mr. Elliott Breece, the original creators of the app, return to Songza, and, with the permission and cooperation of Google, bring back the old Songza, and all its features which set it apart from other streaming apps.
