Last week The New York Times reported that Google and Verizon are nearing a secret agreement that would seriously endanger net neutrality

"Such an agreement could overthrow a once-sacred tenet of Internet policy known as net neutrality, in which no form of content is favored over another. In its place, consumers could soon see a new, tiered system, which, like cable television, imposes higher costs for premium levels of service."

We believe that this agreement would be bad for the consumers. This agreement could also influence lawmakers to move toward ending net neutrality. We certainly do not need a few corporations controlling what has been a free and open internet system.
