This petitions sole purpose is to get all major tech companies, primarily those that own social media platforms, to require a state or federal identification card in order to create a social media account. 

We would also require each social media account, page, or site to have a tab indicating the full legal name of the page creator and/or account holders, and any/all admins. 

This requirement would be retroactive and result in accounts being terminated for non compliance. 

A policy like this would greatly reduce “fake” or “anonymous” profiles that disemminate false and defamatory information. Further, it would allow for immediate law enforcement or civil court intervention when these fake profiles take matters too far. 

Far too many children have committed suicide due to internet bullying. Far too many people have had reputations tarnished with false information. 

Free speech remains and should never be limited as long as you stand behind what you say.
