As rate payers and responsible dog owners, we demand that the Gold Coast City Council withdraw plans to amend the maps below which will prohibit walking of dogs on designated trails and also substantially reduce the size of off-leash dog areas.

Reducing the off-leash areas and prohibiting walking on the fire trails takes away the freedom to exercise our dogs in our local area, as well as the natural instinct for dogs to run. 

We chose to reside in these particular areas due to the beautiful surrounds and outdoor spaces available to exercise our dogs.

Reducing these basic civil liberties will result in badly behaved, unexercised dogs, complaining neighbours and unnecessary disputes.
