It has become the focus of our attention that the cell tower right beside DMCI Homes Alea Residences is harmful to the health of residents in the area. With the Golden Bay Land residential property, Garden City, also close by, it will be a definite health concern.

The cell tower was announced to be inactive early Aug 2020. Ever since that announcement, there have been movement on said cell tower like repairs. To assure safety, a certificate from DOH was given indicating permission to operate. However, the presented document (dated 1996) is decades old and back then there were no residential properties around. This is not reliable today with current and new developments in place. Therefore, such documents cannot properly defend assuring claims from both telecom (Globe) and property (DMCI) companies. Come early 2021, it has been disclosed that the cell tower is in fact operating.

Although cell towers provide access to modern advancements, safe distance has always been the protocol when operating them. This is because of the high RF energy levels produced. This results to the heating of biological tissue and the increase of body temperature. According to the FCC, tissue damage in humans could occur during exposure to high RF levels because of the body's inability to cope with or dissipate the excessive heat that could be generated. Studies from American Cancer Society have mentioned that both short term and long term health risks occur within 300-400 meters of cell towers. The premiere building of DMCI Homes is 6 meters from this Globe cell tower. All throughout 2021, residents have moved out of DMCI Homes because of fear of radiation exposure and current residents have been experiencing multiple illnesses. Some examples would be nausea, headache, fever, dizziness and disorientation, and weakness and fatigue. I truly care about removing this cell tower because I have personally encountered a woman who has been getting thinner and thinner while living in this condominium complex.

To protect the locals from this health hazard, we would like to remove and relocate this cell tower in a place for such structures, which is the standard, and far away from the residential area here in Bacoor, Cavite. We are hoping for the companies directly and indirectly involved to take responsibility and move with a united effort to solve this concern.
