Let's make an example of those found responsible for intentionally lighting bushfires - regardless of age. We need much tougher laws. Forget sentencing and bail. They should be forced to take accountability by humiliating them within the communities and forcibly made to assist in cleaning up the devastation they have contributed to destroy; attend all animal hospitals and shelters caring for severely wounded and scorched animals as a confronting admission of their actions. A NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) volunteer has been charged after an investigation into a spate of fires on the state's far south coast.

Blake William Banner appeared in Bega Local Court today charged with seven counts of intentionally causing a fire.

Police said in a statement that the 19-year-old allegedly lit seven fires in the Bega Valley between October 17 and November 26.
