In 2017, Lionsgate released Power Rangers — a bold reimagining of the classic franchise. It gave us five relatable teenagers with attitude, deep character development, powerful messages about friendship and mental health, and a fresh take on Zordon, Rita, and the Ranger legacy.

While it may not have lit up the box office back then, the film has since found a huge fanbase through streaming and home media. People who missed it in theaters now call it one of the most underrated superhero films of the 2010s.

RJ Cyler’s portrayal of Billy Cranston (the Blue Ranger) touched many viewers, especially those who saw themselves in his autism representation. Naomi Scott, Dacre Montgomery, Ludi Lin, and Becky G each brought heart and soul to a team that deserved more.

The film ended with a clear setup: Tommy Oliver. The Green Ranger.
But the sequel never came.

We're asking Hasbro, Netflix, and Lionsgate to consider continuing the 2017 timeline — even if it’s through a streaming film or limited series. This version of the team still means so much to fans. We believe there’s room in the franchise to explore this powerful, grounded universe alongside any reboots.

A sequel would give us closure, finish the story that began in Angel Grove, and honor the incredible performances that still inspire people today.
