This school year, my middle school changed the times when classes start and end. Last year, First hour started at 7:33 am and students were allowed to enter the building at 7:25 and we had 8 minutes of passing time before first hour. Between all of the other classes, we have 5 minutes of passing time, which I believe is reasonable. Now We are allowed to enter the building at 7:25 when the first class starts at 7:31. The reason I am petitioning is to allow students to enter the building earlier. Many students are arriving at class tardy because there is less time to get to class. If the petition is successful, this will be especially helpful in the winter, when students have many layers and need to put many things in our lockers.
