Fencing is an amazing sport and is truly a fantastic and rewarding experience, fencing may look intense and intimidating but it is one of the safest competitive sports out there

I am a student at oakleaf and believe that many people would benefit from joining fencing 

it will help develop strong mental skills like concentration, focus, determination, analytical thinking, goal-setting, and the ability to remain calm and composed under stress

Some may wonder about safety, contrary to popular belief the ends of fencing swords(foil) are usually covered with a rubber ball. I can assure you that fencing is one of the safest sports despite its roots in combat, it has a lower injury rate than soccer, and most fencing injuries are strained muscles and bruises. There is NO full body collisions, and there will be STRICT supervision. Fencing is more of a mental game than physical it is known as physical chess for a reason, its based upon strategic planning fast reflexes and precision.
