My name is Tiffany Mullins. In 2008, the Saint Lucie County School board let me go. They paid me through my contract year and allowed me to have unemployent compensation. They did, however, lie about me to the entire world and said that they let me go because I had 30 unexcused absences. This was false. They were never able to present proof of this accusation. As a result, I was blackballed from teaching. I was one of the top 2% of teachers in the state of Florida. I could not find a job anywhere because of the lies. I had a probono attorney to sue them for defamation but did not have the heart to do so. I could not find a job for two years because of their lies. They even stole my personal belongings from my classroom, medical records that I kept in my desk and went through my personal laptop. After being evicted 3 times, going without electricity for 3 weeks and not feeding myself in order to feed my family. I made the choice to provide for my children by doing some adult entertainment. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. I was molested for 10 years of my life, and raped previously twice. In the end, my children were taken care of. I just had my professional teaching certificate renewed and it is good through 2017. I really miss teaching and am an excellent teacher. I just want the chance to have a fair interview. Students need teachers that genuinely care about their wellbeing. I am one of those teachers. My husband is a teacher. My father in law was the longest running superintendant in the state of Florida. I am asking that you sign this petition. I want the Okeechobee County school board to give me a chance and not allow the St. Lucie County school board to continue with the lies. Have a blessed day!
