Junee is about to open a brand new road and pedestrian bridge — the kind of thing that will carry locals, visitors, and travellers through our town for the next 50+ years.

We think it deserves a name that means something.

Laurie Daley grew up in Junee before becoming one of rugby league's most respected figures — a premiership winner with the Canberra Raiders, a State of Origin great, and later head coach of the NSW Blues. He's carried the name of this town further than any bridge, road, or sign ever could.

Naming this bridge after him would:

Honour a genuine local legend while he's still here to see it
Put Junee on the map for the thousands of rugby league fans, Raiders supporters, and NSW Blues fans who know his name
Something to be proud of every single time someone drives or walks across it
This isn't just a nice idea for the locals (though hopefully leading the charge!). It's a chance for NRL fans, Canberra Raiders supporters, and everyone who's ever cheered for the Blues in Origin to help make it happen.

We're asking Junee Shire Council and Transport for NSW to formally name the new bridge the "Laurie Daley Bridge."
