This petition aims for Happy Elements K.K and the English Ver. of Ensemble Stars to:

  1. Have Arashi's gender identity of being a Transgender Woman acknowledged within the game and its story.
  2. End the usage of no pronouns in reference to Arashi and instead use she/her pronouns (or they/them when a character is misgendering her).
  3. Fix the lack of pronouns used in past stories. Specifically in Main Story 1.5's Chapter 1 story, "Seven Bridges" and within the "Polka Dots" event story. If Negi's pronouns and identity can be respected in this story, so can Arashi's.

Arashi Narukami from Ensemble Stars has been widely accepted as canonically being a transgender woman by a majority of fans from all versions of the game. This includes English fans playing the English version of Ensemble Stars.

Since launch, Ensemble Star's English ver. has been purposefully avoiding using any pronouns towards Arashi, instead opting to only refer to her by name. This was already frustrating for many players, but up until recently, Arashi played a minor role in the main story.

With the release of the "Hope-Bridging Tanabata" event and the addition it brought to the main story, the avoidance of acknowledging Arashi's gender identity and pronouns became excruciatingly obvious and has outraged many. Not only do they respect the pronouns of Negi, a deceased woman who shares a body with her brother, they also completely removed mentions to characters comparing her gender expression to Arashi. More Info Here

They also had Tetora misgender Arashi in the first episode of the "Polka Dots" event story, which not only is extremely disrespectful of the translators, but also completely out of character of Tetora, who is fully aware and supportive of her identity within the ! era story "Beasts". More Info Here

Furthermore, before the English ver. released, the official EN website used the correct pronouns towards Arashi before the site was changed upon the game's release. This can be found using the Wayback Machine. This proves that those behind the English ver. are perfectly aware of Arashi's gendere identity and pronouns, but purposefully avoid it within the game.
