Schools in Lunenburg Massachusetts have had School Resource Officer McNamara and his partner comfort dog officer Hank make a true impact on their schools. Based on students' words, Hank has left a true impact on their lives. One student felt so impacted by Hank that she wrote a letter to Officer McNamara and his partner Hank thanking them for just essentially just being in her life. She went so far as to say, "In all honesty, nothing beats walking down the hallway and seeing a police dog that you can pet! Like how crazy is that? So often we see working dogs, whether they be police drug dogs, or even just regular service dogs in public that we cannot distract or touch; it is an extremely nice change to be around one that we can not only pet if we want, but are encouraged to do so. It’s such a simple thing, yet it brings so much joy." 

My goal is to allow Leominster High School to have this luxury as well. With the support from students at LHS, LCE, & CTEI and the additional aid of Officer McNamara and Hank himself, I feel as though a comfort dog coming to our school could be a very real possibility.
