To the outside world, they look like American Royalty, giving to charities, feeding the homeless, rebuilding the city. But behind closed doors is a constant battle for dominance between two Bosses, cultures, and hearts...

On July 14th 2014, the world of mafia romance books was struck by a literary comet. A comet named Ruthless People written by JJ McAvoy.

The submissive and weak female protagonists had become boring, docile and far too repetitive. As were the simply emotionally strong ones with nothing to balance them out. The generic style of mafia books was completely uprooted. Typical plot lines and predictable endings were thrown out of the window. Why and how, you may ask?

Because Melody Nicci Giovanni Callahan arrived.

Don't believe me? Go read the books for yourself! (I promise you, you won't regret it. Be warned of the addictive effects, though.)

I am one of many, many passionate and devoted fans of this series. For far too long, mafia romances have come and gone and none have filled my eye, as will many others agree. The Ruthless People series is what everyone is looking for, what we greedy and insatiable consumers have been craving for so long. We want to see action, we want drama, we want glamorous scenes, love, blood, money, comedy, fashion, power, politics, sex, scandals, suspense, strong characters and so much more! And only this series can do that! Only JJ McAvoy can create such an environment and she has done it so very well. It's just unfortunate that the beautifully ugly world of the Callahan reign is all in our imaginations...

To have a character like Melody, a young and terrifyingly powerful woman, is so refreshing. Her cold and calculating mentality, her dark sense of humour, her monstrous blood lust and twisted allure along with her genius mind all hidden behind exceptional beauty is utterly refreshing and addictive. Side that with Liam Callahan's stoically manic demeanour, good looks, inevitable charm and protected sensitivity, these two are impossibly perfect. The story is further enhanced by every other colourful character that makes up the Callahan family.

Bringing Ruthless People to the screens will be a revolutionary act. Not only because of how much diversity it entails, but also because it combines all the little aspects that we enjoy separately in all the other works we've seen - all the other works that we always felt were missing something.

So, please. I urge you so strongly to sign this petition, even if you haven't read the books. The Ruthless People series deserves to be seen. These characters deserve to be portrayed. The events, the story... it deserves to be brought to life.

(And seriously, once you're done signing, go read the books.)
