Dear Franklin County students, parents and teachers,

          We would like to start using biodegradable paper trays for lunch. Styrofoam takes 500 years to decompose, and it is also very harmful for the environment to produce. Every day when we eat our lunch, we are ingesting chemicals like styrene, and polystyrene. When these materials get hot, the chemicals can leach into your food. These chemicals have been shown to cause cancer. Please share this document with anyone you know who is interested in helping the environment. Students can also send it to your parents if you think they will be sympathetic to our cause.
