The Issue

IReady has become a source of frustration for students like me. We are required to dedicate two hours each week to this program, and yet, it feels like a pointless exercise. It annoys us because the time and effort we put into it does not seem to benefit our learning or academic performance. Instead of motivating us, it drains our enthusiasm for schoolwork.

Many students share my view, feeling overwhelmed and under-challenged by IReady's monotonous assignments that lack real-world application. Teachers often tell us that IReady helps us improve our math and reading skills. However, the lack of interaction and personalized feedback makes it an ineffective tool for truly understanding and engaging with the material.

Studies have shown that students learn best through interactive and adaptive educational strategies—not through generic tasks. On top of that, schools are spending significant amounts of money on the implementation of IReady, money that could be better spent on hiring more teachers, providing resources for hands-on learning, or even mental health support services that are becoming increasingly necessary.

By signing this petition, we are calling on school districts to reconsider the necessity and efficacy of IReady in our education systems. Let’s invest in educational resources that genuinely support students’ learning experiences, foster creativity, and encourage critical thinking. Sign now to make this change and enhance the quality of education for students everywhere.
