Call to action: 82 entails the provincial and territorial governments, in collaboration with survivors and their organizations, to install a publicly accessible, highly visible, Residential School Monument in each capital city and major cities all around Canada to honor survivors and all the children who lost their lives to residential schools.

A large percentage of the Canadian population is unaware of the horrors of residential schools. therefore a highly visible monument in all capital cities in Canada would attract the eyes of Canadians all over this country. This call to action will bring awareness to residential schools and serve as a reminder as well as a step forward to reconciliation. 

It is extremely important to act now because the government has put very little priority on following through with the 94 calls to action. As a result, these calls to action have been left unfulfilled for the the past 7 years. I believe, that as the citizens of this country we need to show interest in taking steps towards reconciliation and give the government the extra push they need in order to follow through with their promises.
