Get open captions (on-screen subtitles) in Solano County movie theaters!
The Issue
In Solano County, there are no theaters currently offer movies that provide regular open caption screenings (on-screen subtitles). Listings of cities in Solano County which are (Benicia, Vallejo, Suisun City, Dixon, Vacaville, Rio Vista, and Fairfield) and the locations of the movie theaters are Regal Edward Fairfield in Fairfield, Brenden Vacaville 16 in Vacaville, and Cinemark Century 14 in Vallejo. None of them offer regular open captions on screens.
I has had sent requests and provide open caption to Regal in Fairfield, Brenden in Vacaville, and Cinemark in Vallejo numerous of times. Other theaters which are outside of Solano County have provided open captions. The closest theater provides open captions is the Cinemark in Napa also most AMC theaters has provided open caption, however there are no AMC theaters in Solano County.
Open Captions are for Everyone
Last weekend eleven Cinemark theaters in California began offering open caption (on screen subtitles) screenings. (California has at least 65 theaters showing open captions regularly statewide, except Solano County.) Open captions are not just for people with hearing loss. Captions also help people with autism, attention deficit disorder, auditory processing disorder, noise sensitive, kids and adults learning or improving English. Kids and adults can learning or improving English as their second language. There’s also the fact that many young people be fond of captions because they use captions all the time at home especially on streamed movies. If enough people are interested in captions we might be able to get a theater to offer regular open caption screenings at Cinemark Century Vallejo 14 in Vallejo.
Would you like theaters in Solano County to start provide open caption on screens? I would much appreciate if you could sign this petition, post a comment, and share the petition! Let’s tell Regal, Brenden, and Cinemark theaters that you want open captions on screens.
