Players have been submitting locations as potential pokestops/wayspots for other Niantic games for years.  Recently Niantic has started a crackdown on low quality/fake/etc wayspots that is snaring many innocent players and subjecting them to unjust warnings or even account suspension. Niantic is intentionally vague about their processes and what nets sanctions against an account and has done little to address the controversy, as is par for the course for them.  

We call on Niantic to immediately cease all warnings and suspensions related to wayspot nominations, entirely reform the process so not one innocent account gets so much as a warning before resuming sanctions, eliminate the ability to have an entire game account suspended or terminated over Wayfarer issues and only sanction the offender’s Wayfarer account, make the approval process entirely transparent and clearly spell out what will and will not get a warning or worse, and guarantee approval or rejection within a reasonable time frame.

Niantic has done a lot to erode the trust of players over the last year.  They can make a step towards earning it back by changing how they do this so that people aren’t nervous about submitting locations as possible wayspots.
