I was scrolling through Hello Kitty images when I stumbled upon a “meme” depicting Hello Kitty making herself throw up into a toilet with the words “Hello Kitty staying pretty.” I will not be showing the image here due to the graphic nature of the photo.  I click on the website this image is attached to, and I stumbled upon a whole forum, (still active as of today.) Promoting ED’s. This absolutely blew my mind. How is this website still up? People are coming here promoting this behavior and romanticizing Eating Disorder’s. It’s absolutely heartbreaking.

The National Eating Disorder Association helpline is 1-800-931-2237. Any other resources, I’ll add as I find them. If you struggling with an Eating Disorder, please seek professional help. Do not turn to websites like these, they do not help you mentally. The people who keep this website up and running must be held accountable.

We need to get somebody to take this website down. I don’t know who, or how. But something needs to change. It breaks my heart knowing a child could stumble upon that image just as easily as I did, and think that binging and purging makes you beautiful. We should not be using childlike figures to romanticized Eating Disorder’s, or ANYTHING for that matter.
