Get ICE Off Our Streets — End the Unconstitutional Terrorizing of U.S. Residents

Get ICE Off Our Streets — End the Unconstitutional Terrorizing of U.S. Residents
The Issue
Every day, families across America are living in fear — not because they’ve done anything wrong, but because Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has turned our neighborhoods into militarized zones. Armed agents are storming city streets, detaining residents without cause, and violating the most basic civil liberties guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.
ICE was created to enforce immigration law. But it has become something far more dangerous — an unaccountable force that acts outside the bounds of justice. The raids we’ve seen in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles are not law enforcement; they are intimidation campaigns. They target people of color, immigrants, and bystanders alike. They create chaos, not safety. And in a democracy, there is no justification for federal agents patrolling our streets like an occupying army.
No one should be shoved to the ground, shot at, or terrorized on their way to work or school. No one should have to wonder if today’s grocery run will end in an ICE sweep. These actions don’t make us safer — they make us smaller. They strip away the freedoms this country claims to stand for.
We are calling on the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and Congress to:
Immediately halt ICE field operations in American cities.
Launch an independent investigation into ICE’s unconstitutional practices.
Redirect ICE’s funding toward due process, community programs, and humane immigration reform.
The United States cannot claim to be a democracy while its own government terrorizes residents under the banner of “law and order.” The Constitution doesn’t end where ICE begins.
This isn’t just an immigration issue. It’s an American issue. It’s about who we are — and who we refuse to become.
